Jeff Gallagher explains how Trader hardware store software has benefitted his business. Could it do the same for you?

Dublin-based home improvement centre and DIY stockist Discount DIY has been providing the people of Dublin with tools, timber, plumbing and hardware supplies since 2010. Like many DIY start-ups, Discount DIY set out in business without a point-of-sale software system in place. Staff would fill out invoices by hand and monitor stock manually.

As the company grew, however, Discount DIY directors Jeff Gallagher and David Young decided that the time was right to bring a dedicated hardware store software system to help them at the point-of-sale and beyond. ‘We wanted to speed up the business’ everyday processes and have less paperwork to worry about’, said Mr Gallagher.

Jeff and David chose Trader, and in September of 2014 the system went live. Trader had an immediate impact on Discount DIY, and when we caught up with Jeff in December he was full of praise for the company’s new hardware store software solution. ‘Trader saves us a lot of time’, said Jeff. ‘For us, the most useful aspect is the invoice printing function. We no longer have to waste time writing out invoices by hand.’

‘Even though we’ve never had an onsite software system before, many of our staff members are able to use Trader. I’d definitely recommend the system to other hardware stores and builders’ merchants.’

Discount DIY has become one of the latest businesses to join the Trader family. As always, we’ll stay on hand with our thorough support services to help Jeff and David get the most out of Trader throughout their relationship with us.

Trader has had an immediate and profound impact on the way that Discount DIY operates. Would you like to find out more about how we could do the same for your business? Read up on our software or contact us today for more information.
