‘They’re a central part of my plan for Britain’ said Cameron of the country’s small traders, ahead of Small Business Saturday on December 7th. According to the Prime Minister, 100,000 small business start-ups have come into existence over the past year, and small traders account for ‘99 in every 100 businesses.’

This year will see the first ever Small Business Saturday in the UK, with one of the busiest shopping days of the year being used to promote the country’s growing traders and independent companies. Small Business Saturday is being used to help communicate the importance of digital marketing and other important methods of self-promotion to small businesses, whilst giving the public more and more reasons to ‘buy British.’

Cameron was at pains to stress the importance of small traders to his Conservative government, saying: ‘I have nothing but respect for people who strike out on their own, build something from scratch then work day and night to make it a success. These are the values we need in Britain today and they are national heroes.’

Construction industry traders, builders’ merchants and hardware suppliers can find out more about Small Business Saturday on the official website, while growing businesses can look to achieve greater cost-effective success in future with the help of our EPoS retail software.
